Memorable 5-Day Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha Safari (From $650 PP)

Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara National Reserve

Upon arrival at Nairobi Airport or pick-up from your hotel, you will be transferred to our office for a safari briefing at 7:30 AM. Afterwards, depart Nairobi for the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve.

Enjoy a scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley, stopping at the spectacular viewpoint where your guide will explain the formation of the escarpment. Continue via Narok Town, where you will stop for lunch before proceeding to the reserve.

Arrive at Maasai Mara in the late afternoon, check in to your camp or lodge, and take some time to freshen up. Later, head out on an exciting evening game drive, where you’ll have the opportunity to spot a variety of wildlife while enjoying the breathtaking African sunset over the savannah.

Return to your camp or lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Full-Day Maasai Mara Safari

After an early breakfast, spend the entire day exploring the spectacular Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations.

The reserve is renowned for the Great Wildebeest Migration, which takes place annually from July to October, when millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles cross the Mara River in search of greener pastures.

During your game drives, keep an eye out for the legendary Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—as well as cheetahs, giraffes, hyenas, crocodiles, hippos, and hundreds of bird species.

Drive to the famous Mara River, where the dramatic migration crossings occur, and enjoy a picnic lunch at the scenic Hippo Pool before continuing your afternoon game drive.

Return to the camp in the late afternoon. Optional activities include a visit to a traditional Maasai village or other cultural experiences.

Dinner and overnight at your camp or lodge.

Day 3: Maasai Mara – Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, depart Maasai Mara and drive towards Lake Nakuru National Park.

Enjoy lunch en route while taking in scenic views of Mount Longonot and Lake Naivasha along the Great Rift Valley.

Arrive in Nakuru in the evening and check in to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its thriving populations of black and white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, and numerous bird species.

The park is also home to beautiful acacia woodlands, rocky escarpments, and the alkaline Lake Nakuru, which attracts a variety of water birds throughout the year.

After the game drive, depart for Lake Naivasha, arriving in the evening. Check in to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha – Hell’s Gate National Park – Nairobi

After breakfast, depart for Hell’s Gate National Park, one of Kenya’s most unique parks, where visitors can enjoy walking or cycling among wildlife in a spectacular volcanic landscape.

Explore the park while enjoying birdwatching, photography, dramatic cliffs, and impressive rock formations.

Optional activities include:

  • A boat ride on Lake Naivasha to see hippos and a variety of birdlife.
  • A guided walking safari on Crescent Island, where you can walk among giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and antelopes.

After your excursion, depart for Nairobi and be dropped off at your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, marking the end of your safari.
